"...Creating
our own mini Zakouski (hors d'oeuvre) we chose three
and loved them all. Rulet Kuriny - three cold slices
of chopped chicken breast, rolled, stuffed with dried prunes
and apricots - was a delicious, sweet-sour combination, accentuated
by a sharp cranberry sause. Rulet Baklazhanniy - three
large rolls of lightly panfried thin aubergine slices filled
with crushed nuts, loads of garlic, and tomato, with picked
red cabbage, black olives and yellow peppers - were unctuous
and sublime. Blinis with Red Caviar - two pancakes
with a little dish of red caviar - were heavenly."
